A retired Virginia couple is feared dead after their catamaran was stolen by escaped prisoners in the Caribbean, authorities said. The Royal Caribbean Police on Monday, Feb. 26 said the three prisoners, who escaped police custody on Sunday, Feb. 18, likely used Ralph Hendry and Kathy Brandel's boat, Simplicity, as a getaway boat. Police ID 87-Year-Old Man Killed Crossing Intersection In Virginia
An 87-year-old Reston man well known to the community has died from his injuries after being struck by a Mercedes while walking near a busy Fairfax County intersection, police say. Peter McCandless has been identified by investigators as the man struck attempting to cross the southbound lanes of Reston Parkway near Market Street earlier this week. Police say that McCandless was walking in a crosswalk, but against the signal when he was struck by a 2017 Mercedes ML350 traveling through the area.
