A day of celebration turned into one of misery for multiple Stafford County families displaced by a fast-moving fire on the Fourth of July. At approximately 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4, Stafford County Fire and Rescue crews were called to the unit block of Smelters Trace Road in Stafford, when improperly discarded fireworks sparked a blaze that tore through the home. Nine people were injured - including two minors - in an early morning Wednesday shooting during a targeted attack of a group of people celebrating the Fourth of July. A loving father was trying to take in some Fourth of July fireworks over the holiday weekend when he was struck and killed by a stray bullet, according to his family. Cambridge resident Tyuane Johnson, Jr., 24, was an innocent bystander watching fireworks on Monday, July 4, when he got caught in the crossfire and was fatally hit by a bullet. A 12-year-old boy and an unidentified male drowned in the Virginia Beach waters Fourth of July weekend, Pilot Online reports.
