'Significant' Gas Leak Shuts Down Busy Roads In Northeast DC DC Fire and EMS personnel were busy on Thursday afternoon after a construction crew hit a high-pressure gas line in Northeast, leading to a "significant" leak in the area.  At around 11:15 a.m. on March 21, firefighters were called to New York and Florida Avenue NE, where a gas line was struck and spread to an adjacent building, officials said. Man Takes Fatal Fall From Building Under Construction In Arlington A man died after falling several stories from a building under construction in Arlington over the weekend, authorities said. The incident happened at Fairfax Drive and N. Quincy Street just before 7 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, city spokeswoman Ashley Savage said. ARL Now reports that the man was trespassing and climbing a rope before he fell eight stories.
