Support is swelling for a 29-year-old hometown boy who was beloved in his DC community after the Department of Energy and Environment employee was gunned down and left for dead. Late on Monday, Oct. 16, officers from the Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 1400 block of C Street NE, where there were reports of shots fired that left two men down, including Cahli Thomas, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Community members in Fairfax County saw something and said something to help swiftly lead police to apprehend a wanted rape suspect who assaulted a woman at a Maryland hotel.
