Forecasters are touting a massive storm expected to drop several inches of snow on the East Coast this weekend. But some weather maps show parts of the Northeast will get only rain, and no snow at all, noting a another impactful storm could be coming mid-week next week, AccuWeather reports. Mom With Virginia Ties Bites Corrections Officer In PA, Police Say
A 43-year-old mom fought and bit a corrections officer, Central Pennsylvania police announced on Sept. 1. Shanika Shanta Cheatham most recently of Enola was spotted driving erratictly around 11:15 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 24, according to the East Pennsboro Police Department. She was found appearing to be under the influence of alcohol without a valid license at the intersection of North Enola and East Columbia roads, the police explained. Air Quality Quickly Worsening As Wildfire Smoke Returns
Another wave of Canadian wildfire smoke is making its way to the East Coast — and things were already not looking great as of Wednesday, June 28. Air quality index (AQI) values were in the triple digits in Philadelphia, Washington DC, and Baltimore as of Wednesday afternoon, AccuWeather says citing Plume Labs (see map above). Severe storms with the possibility of isolated tornadoes will be threatening the East Coast Monday, June 26, and will be followed by at least two more days of stormy weather, meteorologists say. A 58-year-old man who is known for playing Santa Clause at events in central Pennsylvania has been sentenced to jail, Pennsylvania state police announced on Thanksgiving eve. Two men have died following a crash in central Pennsylvania involving a stolen white Charger Hellcat from Delaware on Sunday, September 10, Pennsylvania state police say.
