Fugitive Plunges Off James River Bridge During Police Pursuit: Authorities
A 29-year-old fugitive leapt off the James River Bridge after a collision, but was ultimately rescued by a vessel in the river and arrested, Virginia State Police said.
Kelly Golden Jr., 29, of Suffolk, was spotted by a police officer driving recklessly in a black sedan on the bridge and struck another vehicle — causing a four-car crash — around 8:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22 in Newport News, according to state police.
Golden, who had been wanted for a felony probation violation, fled the scene on foot.

Brand-New Dodge Challenger Struck Taxi Head-On In Triple Fatal VA Crash: Cops
Three people died in a head-on crash involving a brand-new Dodge Challenger and taxi on Loudoun County Parkway Wednesday, Oct. 25, authorities said.
A 2023 Dodge Challenger was heading north on the Parkway when he lost control near Shellhorn Road and struck a Toyota Sienna taxi head-on around 10:50 p.m., the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said.
The sole occupant of the Dodge, a 56-year-old male from Las Vegas, NV, and the two occupants of the Toyota, a 51-year-old male from Silver Spring, MD, and a 66-year-old male from Brambleton, VA, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Driver Found Dead In Car 3.5 Hours After Virginia Crash: State Police
A 35-year-old driver was found dead in a vehicle hours after crashing it Monday, Sept. 11, police said.
Ricky L. Shell, of Alton, was behind the wheel of a Kia Spectra when he failed to maneuver a curve on Route 11 (Lee Highway) in Rappahannock County, Virginia State Police Sgt. Brent Coffey said.
Shell's vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway, went through a fence, down an embankment, and struck a tree 150 feet west of Route 522 (Sperryville Pike).

Major Crash Jams Beltway In Fairfax County
A major crash caused delays along the Capital Beltway on Monday morning, Sept. 11.
It happened near mile marker 56 on the northbound side of I-495, at Robinson Terminal.
As of 9:50 a.m., heavy delays were reported, as the north left center lane, center lane, right center lane, right inside center lane, right outside lane, and right shoulder are closed. Traffic backups were approximately two miles.
