Former VA Volunteer Firefighter, Devoted Dad Michael Broaddus Dies Tributes and condolences are flooding in after the unexpected death of former volunteer firefighter and devoted Virginia dad of two Michael Gregg Broaddus on Thursday, April 6. He was 60. Described as “a man of Sparta,” Michael graduated from Virginia Tech and worked as an Extension Agent with the Virginia Cooperative Extension, his obituary says.
