Francisco Flores-Lopez, 34, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for sexually abusing a 14-year-old District resident, resulting in her getting pregnant, federal authorities announced.
According to court documents, the girl met Flores-Lopez on social media, and the two met up for the first time in June 2022, the same month she was set to turn 14 years old.
Flores-Lopez, who was 32 years old at the time, picked up the teen in his truck and brought her to Rock Creek Park in DC, where he had sex with her in his vehicle, prosecutors said.
The abuse continued at the park between June 2022 and March 2023.
During the abuse, the teen became pregnant and gave birth to a baby girl while she was still 14.
Even after giving birth, Flores-Lopez would come over to the victim’s house and continued to engage in sex with the victim, prosecutors added. DNA testing conducted in this case later determined that Flores-Lopez was the father of the baby born to the girl as a result of the sexual abuse.
Flores-Lopez pleaded guilty in September to first-degree child sexual abuse in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. He was sentenced to 144 months in prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release.
In addition to his prison term and probation, a judge also ordered that Flores-Lopez register as a sex offender.
