Failed Valve To Blame For Ammonia Leak That Sickened 33 Employees In Loudoun County
Investigators have determined what caused an ammonia leak that led to the evacuation of a Loudoun County industrial building and left dozens feeling sick. Shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday night, the Loudoun County Emergency Communications Center was contacted about a reported gas leak in the 22400 block of Sous Vide Lane in Sterling, which in fact turned out to be an ammonia leak. Disoriented Resident Rescued, 3 Hurt In Loudoun County House Fire: Officials
Firefighters rescued one civilian and three people were injured in a Loudoun County fire last week. At 8:21 p.m., Friday, May 3, fire and rescue units responded to a house fire in the 45000 block of Old Ox Road in Sterling where flames were shooting out of the home, and one person was still inside, officials said. Firefighters made entry, quickly extinguishing the fire, and rescued one occupant who had become disoriented and overcome by smoke. Arlington Inmate Dies After Being Found Unresponsive
A woman being held at a Virginia jail for trespassing was found dead in her cell, authorities in Arlington announced. Abonesh Woldegeorges, 73, died on Sunday, Aug. 27, when she was found unresponsive in her cell at the Arlington County Detention Facility, according to officials. Deputies say that they found Woldegeorges unresponsive in her cell shortly after 7 a.m. on Sunday morning. Corrections officers then provided first aid until paramedics could arrive and she was rushed to the Virginia Hospital Center, where she was later pronounced dead. Eight Rescued After Boat Overturns In Potomac River
All hands were on deck on Sunday morning when a boat overturned in the Potomac River and left nearly a dozen people in a perilous position. Several agencies responded on Sunday, July 2, when the boat went over and left eight people in the water in need of a helping hand, which was happily offered by first responders across DC.
