New Snowfall Projections For Midweek Storm: Here's Latest As System Moves East
Confidence is growing that a significant winter storm could blanket much of the Northeast with the most snowfall of the winter season. It's expected to hit the East Coast late Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 19, moving from south to north before winding down around midday on Thursday, Feb. 20, according to the National Weather Service. Potential New Tropical Storm May Form In Same Area That Launched Helene, Milton
The same area that launched two major hurricanes in a two-week span could be the breeding ground for a potential new tropical system. "We expect another gyre to get going over Central America later next week," said AccuWeather Lead Hurricane Expert Alex DaSilva, "From this large, slowly spinning area of low pressure, a more distinct area of showers and thunderstorms may form, and from that, a tropical depression or tropical storm may evolve."
