Hope Serebotseng is behind bars following a strange scene that played out when she badgered employees and refused to return a business phone amid a drunken tirade over the weekend, according to officials.
The incident was reported at approximately 4:20 a.m. on Saturday, March 30 at Wawa on Garrisonville Road in Stafford.
According to investigators, staff advised deputies that Serebotseng had been at the business since around midnight, seemed intoxicated, and refused to return the phone, leading to an argument at the register that prevented other patrons from being served.
When a deputy arrived, they found Serebotseng - still at the registers - and "despite staff seeing her consume Four Loko, and the clear signs of intoxication, (she still) denied being drunk," they said.
The public intoxication charges were already in play; however, the phone was still missing.
Serebotseng eventually relented, advising that the phone was inside her pants, which was retrieved, and returned to the staff. Controlled substances were also recovered by investigators.
She was arrested and charged with possession of controlled substances, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct, and during a strip search at the Rappahannock Regional Jail, Serebotseng was busted with additional contraband.
She is being held on a $3,000 secured bond.
