The private aircraft went down on the 13000 block of Spillman Road in Culpeper County just before 2:45 p.m., Virginia State Police said. The pilot was identified as Grover McCall Jr., of Alexandria. The FAA and NTSB were notified. The incident remains under investigation.

Berlin, 45, of Parma, MI, made an emergency landing in a field of the 1400 block of Steed Lane in Warren County around 5 p.m., Virginia State Police said. The aircraft landed in a field and struck several trees. Berlin was the only occupant and was not injured. The FAA and NTSB were notified and the incident remains under investigation.

Adams, 62, of Bealeton, was trying to land a single-engine plane when the plane collided with several trees around 3:55 p.m. near Midland Road and Ebenezer Church Road, Virginia State Police said. The plane caught fire and Adams, the only occupant, died at the scene of the crash. No one on the ground was injured as a result of the crash. The FAA and NTSB were notified of the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
