Predator Who Stalked, Kidnapped Victims In Maryland, Virginia Gets 20 Years: Feds
A violent predator who orchestrated two terrifying kidnappings in Virginia and Maryland—one of which ended in gunfire—will spend nearly 20 years behind bars, federal authorities announced.
District resident Tyree Eugene McCombs, 29, was sentenced to 228 months in federal prison this week, for his role in the September 2022 abduction and armed robbery of a couple in Alexandria, and the November 2022 kidnapping, robbery, and shooting of a 25-year-old woman in Maryland and DC.
McCombs, who was already on supervised release for a previous violent crime at the time of the attacks, pleaded guilty…
Missing Dad, 39, Found Dead After 9 Day Search: Fairfax County PD
The search for a missing man in Fairfax County has ended in tragedy, authorities announced.
Tamrat Gebremichel was reported missing after having last been seen on Jan. 5 in Springfield, Fairfax County police said. On Jan. 14, police announced that 39-year-old Gebremichel was found dead.
A GoFundMe says that Gebremichel was found dead in Alexandria. Further circumstances around the case have not been released, and police said only that no foul play was suspected.

Four men have been indicted in connection with an organized retail crime ring responsible for 37 thefts across six Maryland counties, causing approximately $800,000 in losses, authorities announced Monday.
The suspects are accused of overwhelming stores with “flash mob” tactics, targeting high-end retail items, and reselling stolen goods.
Attorney General Anthony Brown revealed details about the operation, which spanned Howard, Baltimore, Anne Arundel, Montgomery, Queen Anne’s, and Prince George’s counties.
