North Bergen Man Sentenced For Having 900+ Videos Of Child Porn: Feds A 31-year-old North Bergen man was sentenced to more than 11 years in prison on Wednesday, Oct. 9 after previously pleading guilty to possessing child pornography, authorities said. In April 2023, Christopher Carvajal’s iPhone was seized at Newark International Airport, US Attorney Phillip Sellinger said. Jersey City Gang Member Gets 19+ Years For Numerous Violent Crimes: Feds A 35-year-old Jersey City resident and member of a gang was sentenced to 19.5 year in prison on Wednesday, Oct. 9 after previously pleading guilty to being involved in numerous violent crimes, authorities said. Man's Leg Crushed By Commercial Chiller: Readington PD A man was hospitalized after his leg was crushed by a commercial chiller in Readington on the late morning of Thursday, Oct. 10, authorities said. At 11:28 a.m., officers responded to a business on Route 202 and found a 52-year-old man bleeding uncontrollably after his leg was crushed by a commercial chiller, Readington police said. Officers applied a tourniquet to control bleeding and he was transported to a a nearby trauma center for treatment, police said.

Franklin Police Officer Who Once Saved Animals From Fire Retiring After 26 Years Rafael Burgos' law enforcement career, which was filled with accolades, is coming to an end next month. Burgos will be retiring from the Franklin Borough Police Department on Monday, Nov. 4, after 29 years of service, with the last 26 years spent in Franklin.
