Driver Dies In Route 250 Bypass Crash In Alberbarle County: Police
A driver died in an Albermarle County crash on the Route 250 Bypass Thursday, Aug. 10, police said. The crash happened around 8:15 a.m., on the westbound side of the Route 250 Bypass near the exit ramp for Route 601, police said. The driver was declared dead at the scene. Their identity was being withheld pending notification of the next of kin. The crash remains under investigation by the Albemarle County Police Department’s Fatal Crash Reconstruction Team. Some Virginia residents are being ordered to shelter-in-place as they attempt to track down a 23-year-old man who is armed and is having a mental health crisis. The Albemarle County Police Department issued an alert at approximately 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 6 advising that anyone within a three-mile radius of 1041 Greenwood Road should stay inside as they conduct a manhunt for the concerning suspect. A wanted man was killed by officers in Virginia after taking police on a lengthy pursuit on Tuesday and creating a barricade situation before fleeing to a populated parking lot and turning the gun toward them, officials said.
