Teen Shot Dead In Loudoun County Mourned As 'Funny, Sweet'
Support was on the rise for the family of an 18-year-old man fatally shot last week in Loudoun County.
Alex Omar Cartagena Jr. was shot on the 21000 block of Stanford Square in Sterling around 10:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Virginia Boy Cameron Smith Dies Just After 3rd Birthday: 'He Had Unconditional Love To Give'
The death of a Virginia boy just months after his third birthday is leaving a community grieving.
Cameron Smith, of Stafford, died peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 24, after battling rare genetic disorder Wolcott-Rallison Syndrome since he was an infant, his obituary says.
Cameron, born June 11, 2020, faced his challenges courageously and brought joy to so many people in his short three years of life, his family said.
"He had the biggest heart and unconditional love to give which was a pure reflection of the love he received," his obituary reads.

Tanner Huffman, a former baseball player from northern Virginia turned Navy sailor, died on Saturday, Aug. 26.
Tanner Huffman, 22, played baseball for Massapnoax High School before serving the U.S. as a member of the Navy — following in his father's footsteps, according to his obituary.
Tanner, of Colonial Beach and Fredericksburg, met his wife, Heather, while stationed in Japan, his obit says. They two were expecting a daughter, Kamryn June, together in October, the obituary says.

Seventeen-year-old Roberto A. Martinez Inglis, of Falls Church, died on Saturday, Aug. 12.
A rising high school senior, Roberto hoped to join the Air Force, his obituary says.
"Roberto was a good teenager who constantly tried to impact the lives of those around him positively in his own unique way," his obit reads. "Well known in the football community, Roberto made sure that those closest to him were happy at all times."
