Bike-Riding Purse Snatcher At Large After Armed Robbery On W&OD Trail In Virginia: Sheriff

A new probe has been launched after the latest incident involving an armed robber on the Washington and Old Dominion Trail, police say.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is investigated the robbery, when a man pulled a gun on a woman walking the trail between Sterling Boulevard and Church Road in the early evening of Tuesday, April 2. 

According to a spokesperson for the sherif's office, a Hispanic man brandished a weapon and demanded the woman's purse, to which she complied. The suspect then fled and the woman returned home and contacted the police.

The man was described as being in his early 20s, and is approximately 5-foot-10, with curly black hair. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a black hooded jacket and riding a red bicycle with a blue and white seat.

It remains under investigation.
