Fredericksburg Man Arrested For Sexual Assault Of Minor In Woodbridge: Police
A Fredericksburg man has been charged with sexually assaulting a child in Woodbridge several years ago, Prince William County Police announced on Monday.
Detectives launched an investigation after the victim, now older, recently came forward to report the assault, which occurred between September 2016 and September 2018 when she was under the age of 13, police say.
The investigation revealed that the suspect, later identified as Anthony Bennett, 30, was known to the victim, and he turned himself in to authorities without incident on Nov. 22, police said.

Jeffrey Alan Smith, 45, of New Holland, was charged by Officer Halstead with the following felonies: Rape of a Child, Statutory Sexual Assault, Aggravated Indecent Assault, Indecent Assault of a Minor under 13 (two counts), Corruption of Minors (two counts), Incest of Minors, Unlawful Contact with Minors (two counts) and Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse.

A mother and her children's caregiver are both facing child abuse charges in Prince William County after a boy suffered "serious burns" from unchecked bathwater, police say.
Ninoska Marisol Torres Moradel, 23, and Marvin De Jesus Alvarado Lozano, 46, both of Manassas, have been arrested and charged following a months-long investigation into the boy's injuries.
According to investigators, Torres Moradel left her 2-year-old boy and 4-year-old girl unattended in their residents on Fairmont Avenue in Manassas in late January.

Virginia Parents Who Abused 19-Month-Old Son Before His Mysterious Death Arrested, Cops Say
Two parents charged in the death of their 19-month-old son have been arrested in Virginia, police said.
Richard Osmin Ascencio, 31, and Jakeline Sanchez, 28, both of Woodbridge, are both wanted for felony child abuse, the county police department said.
Officers were called to their Granby Road home on Jan. 22, 2023 where firefighters found their 19-month-old child unresponsive, police said. The boy was rushed to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
