An Alexandria woman is facing charges after allegedly robbing a bank in Fairfax County using a threatening note, police said.
Vicky Vien Phung, 36, was arrested Monday after detectives linked her to a robbery at a bank in the 7000 block of Little River Turnpike in Annandale, according to Fairfax County Police.
Officers responded to the bank at around noon on April 28, after a woman entered, handed a note to the teller, and demanded money. The note, police said, included a threat to harm the teller if they didn’t comply — though no weapon w…

An infant and a toddler were among five people injured during a brutal stabbing spree inside a Maryland home, and the suspect is still on the run, authorities said.
Harford County Sheriff's deputies were called around 7:15 a.m. Sunday, April 27, to a home on Deerhill Circle in Abingdon for a domestic incident, according to the Sheriff's Office.
When deputies arrived, they found two victims outside the residence and three more inside — including an 8-month-old baby and a 2-year-old child.

A robbery suspect turned a Virginia motel into a crime scene — then tried to flush the evidence after landing in jail, authorities said.
Dion Parker, 25, of Callao, was arrested early Friday, April 25, after deputies tracked him to the Super 8 Motel on Warrenton Road, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.
Parker was allegedly connected to a recent robbery in a neighboring jurisdiction and had previously fled Stafford deputies during a 2024 case.

A routine traffic stop exploded into gunfire near Greenbriar when a man opened fire on Fairfax County Police officers, wounding two before he was shot dead at the scene, officials said.

On Saturday, April 19, Gus Serbeck's daughter was assaulted by the 17-year-old, referred to as J.H. at the teen's Leamings Mill residence in Millville, Cumberland County Prosecutor Jennifer Webb-McRae said.

A man was tased while allegedly fighting police inside a Rite Aid in Lower Paxton, officers announced on Monday, April 21.
Adam Dawit Seyum, 21, of Arlington, Virginia, is accused of trying to pass a fake prescription at the pharmacy in the 4900 block of Jonestown Road, according to a release from the Lower Paxton Bureau of Police.
