New Local Income Tax Coming To 4 DelCo Communities: Officials Four Delaware County communities are imposing a new local earned income tax in 2025, according to tax officials. Upper Darby and Upper Providence townships and Ridley Park and Aldan boroughs will join other communities in the county that already collect the tax, Keystone Collections said in a Thursday, Nov. 13 news release. 22-Year-Old Man In 'Critical Condition' After Crash In Montco, Police Say A Limerick motorcyclist was severely injured in a crash with a minivan in Upper Providence on Monday, June 3, township police say.  The 22-year-old was headed east on Black Rock Road when he lost control on the curve at Olympic Road, authorities said. His bike crossed over into the westbound lane and struck the minivan.  Police said he was taken to a trauma center in critical condition while the driver of the minivan was treated for minor injuries at the scene. Montco Firefighters Rescue Trapped Deer From Schuylkill Canal A good samaritan and quick-thinking first responders teamed up to rescue a deer who had fallen into the Schuylkill Canal in Montgomery County on Sunday, April 30.  Area resident Timothy Saja reported the trapped doe near lock 60 in Upper Providence sometime before 3 p.m., officials wrote on Facebook. Officer Joshua "Josh" Micun died Sunday after contracting a COVID-19 related illness, according to the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department. Officer Micun was most recently named Westtown-East Goshen officer of the year by his peers, police said. Pottstown Woman Had 47 Heroin Baggies, Meth In Routine Traffic Stop, State Police Say A 53-year-old Pottstown woman was busted with 47 baggies of heroin and four grams of methamphetamine, authorities said. Barbara Guerrero, was in a 2009 Ford Focus, when troopers pulled her over for unknown traffic violations just before midnight on the westbound side of Route 422/S. Collegeville Road in Upper Providence May 10, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release. Skippack troopers arrested Guerrero, with charges expected to be filed in District Court, the news release says.
