These Bergen County Towns Flipped From Red To Blue In 2016, 2020 Presidential Elections
Bergen County voted primarily Democratic in the 2020 Presidential Election, with many municipalities having flipped from red to blue since the 2016 election. In 2016, 231,211 Bergen County residents voted for Hillary Clinton and 175,529 voted for Donald Trump. Bergen County remained Democratic in 2020, that year, with 285,967 residents voting blue and 204,417 red. According to the University of Florida's Election Lab, 862,101 New Jersey Democrats and 554,951 Republicans have already voted in the 2024 Presidential Election. Maryland's 97 polling stations have been busy in the opening days of early voting as the election rapidly approaches. A record number of voters have come out in the opening days of early voting, easily outpacing the numbers from previous years, according to officials. Chester Co. Man ID'd After Amazon Truck Crash On Lancaster Pike
Authorities say that a Chester County man died at the scene of a crash on Lancaster Pike on Wednesday, Feb. 8. A deputy coroner arrived on the scene near Schoolhouse Road in Providence Township and pronounced 61-year-old Mark Slobodjian, from Nottingham, dead around 6 p.m., according to the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office. A swimming standout from Fairfield County has become one of the first Americans to win a medal at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo. Former Ridgefield High School standout Kieran Smith took third place in the 400-meter freestyle on Saturday, July 24. The 22-year-old Smith finished with a time of 3:43.94 to take the bronze medal. Fourth Skeleton Found In Ridgefield
A fourth skeleton, possibly from a soldier in the Revolutionary War, has been unearthed in Fairfield County. In December, state officials reported the discovery of a well-preserved skeleton “in an area that suggests they may have been a soldier in the Battle of Ridgefield,” State Archaeologist Nick Bellantoni said. The site of the burial is on private property and not open to visitors. While investigating the first burial, officials uncovered two more bodies along the way.
