Suspect Nabbed After Police Sergeant Dragged During Traffic Stop In Hudson Valley
A New York State trooper was injured when he was dragged by a vehicle he had stopped for a traffic violation in the Hudson Valley.
Sergeant Gregory Lischak was injured in Dutchess County around 1:30 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 16 during the stop on Route 9G in Rhinebeck.
A preliminary investigation determined the driver, Nicolas Antunano, age 23, of Poughkeepsie, was wanted on an outstanding warrant, said Trooper AJ Hicks.
While attempting to take Antunano into custody, Antunano abruptly drove away from the scene, dragging Lischak, he added.

Suspect Nabbed For Fatal Shooting Of Woman At Home In Area
A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of an area woman who was found dead in her home.
Dutchess County resident William Dicke, age 42, of Rhinebeck, was arrested early Monday, Jan. 24, for the murder which took place on Saturday, Jan. 22.
According to Trooper AJ Hicks, on Saturday around 12:30 p.m., State Police were dispatched for an emergency medical response to a residence on Mill Road in the town of Rhinebeck.
Responding troopers found Danielle C. DiStefano, age 35, dead in her home, Hicks said.

26-Year-Old Charged With Murder After Stabbing At Area Residence
A Hudson Valley man has been charged with murder after allegedly stabbing another man to death.
Dutchess County resident David A. Trotta Jr., age 26, of Amenia, was arrested on Sunday, Jan. 16, and charged with second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
According to Trooper AJ Hicks, state police responded to a home around 11:50 a.m. after receiving a 911 call reporting a stabbing.
Once on scene the suspect, Trotta, was immediately taken into custody, Hicks said.

ID Released For Northern Westchester Man Found Dead After Jumping From Bear Mountain Bridge
A man found dead after jumping from the Bear Mountain Bridge has been identified by police.
Jack J. Murphy, age 69, of Ossining, was found by the Westchester County Police Marine Unit after jumping from the bridge around 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 29, state police said.
A search began for Murphy after witnesses called Westchester County 911 prompting a response from the State Police, Park Police, Westchester County Police Department, the Continental Fire Department, and Peekskill Emergency Medical Services, Trooper AJ Hicks said.

Multiple Fires At Area Apartment Complex Intentionally Set, State Police Say
State police say several fires at an area apartment complex that left 26 people displaced were intentionally set.
The two main fires at the Dutchess County facility began around 10:13 p.m., Sunday, April 18, at the Village at Merritt Park apartment in the Village of Fishkill, said Trooper AJ Hicks.
An investigation on Monday, April 19, by the state police and Dutchess County found that seven rear back porches, which had paper products being stored for recycling, were set on fire at the 200 Building, 400 Building, and 800 Building, Hicks said.

Crashes Reported On I-684, Taconic, Cross County Parkways
Light snow and slippery roads have resulted in some crashes in the area on Friday morning, Feb. 19.
New York State Police reported several crashes, including one in Bedford that slowed traffic earlier on I-684. But state police said that, overall, there have not been a large number of crashes.
"We haven't experienced any significant crashes this morning," said Trooper AJ Hicks.
There was another crash on the Cross County Parkway in New Rochelle, but police said there were no major backups from the crash.

25-Year-Old Nabbed For Northern Westchester Vehicle Larcenies Following Foot Pursuit
A 25-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly attempting to break into numerous vehicles and taking police on a foot pursuit when they attempted to stop him.
Michael S. O'Connor, of Carmel, was arrested on Tuesday, Dec. 15, by state police after they received a call about a suspicious person on Ridge Road, in Northern Westchester, said Trooper AJ Hicks.
Responding Troopers found and attempted to interview a male subject in the area. The subject, later identified as, O’Connor, fled on foot from the approaching troopers, Hicks said.
