Drunk, Wrong-Way Driver Flees On Foot After Being Busted On Thruway, Police Say
An alleged drunk driver is facing multiple charges after he was busted driving the wrong way on a highway in the region, authorities said.
Greene County resident Conor Moan, age 25, of Greenville, was arrested for felony DWI and other charges following a near-crash that occurred early Sunday, March 5, on the Thruway in Schenectady County, in the town of Rotterdam.
Troopers first spotted Moan at around 2 a.m. as he drove a Subaru Legacy westbound in the eastbound lane on I-90 near exit 26, according to State Police. They avoided a head-on crash by veering onto the right shoulder.

A Park Ridge motorist who drove into a Mahwah hotel parking lot through the exit was busted by township detectives with crystal meth and LSD for sale, authorities said.
Jack Cassidy Bauer, 33, “exhibited extremely nervous behavior when asked routine questions” after they approached his 2002 Subaru Legacy on Thursday, Capt. Guido Bussinelli said.
A search of the vehicle turned up the meth, acid, some Ecstasy, Xanax and drug paraphernalia, the captain said.

Police are warning residents not to follow suspected car thieves after a man was shot at in Connecticut.
The incident took place in New Haven County around 1:40 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 5, when a Cheshire man reported he observed suspects in his neighborhood breaking into a car, said Cheshire Police.
Shortly after, while driving around looking for the men, the victim located the suspect's vehicle traveling north on Maple Avenue.

Police have arrested an area man for the alleged hit-and-run death of a man who was killed while unloading groceries from this vehicle.
Sullivan County resident Joseph Maxwell, age 34, of LIberty, was arrested on Tuesday, April 13, for the hit-and-run death of Dennis Toscano, 60, also of Liberty, who was found dead Saturday, April 10, on the shoulder of the highway, said Sullivan County Sheriff's Office Deputy Cheif Eric Chaboty.
