It was a very busy day for the Massachusetts State Lottery. On Wednesday, May 22, multiple Bay Staters won massive prizes, including a $1 million jackpot, a $710,000 Megabucks win — the second such prize this month — and multiple $100,000 winners. A trio was discovered to be running a shoplifting ring across the state after police caught them attempting to steal food from a Connecticut Stop & Shop. The Fairfield County incident took place on Monday, April 29 in Darien. At approximately 3:30 p.m. that day at the Darien Stop & Shop, located at 25 Old Kings Highway North, 45-year-old Joseph Macdonald reportedly left the store with a loaded shopping card, saying he had forgotten his wallet in the car. Smash-Grab Incident At CT Stop & Shop Under Investigation
Police in Connecticut are investigating after thieves backed through a Stop & Shop gas station door and made off with a cash register. The incident occurred in Hartford County around 4 a.m., Tuesday, May 7, at the New Britain store on West Main Street. According to Rachel Zaniewski of the New Britain Police, officers responded to a burglary after a vehicle backed through the door to the Stop and Shop gas station. CT Woman Caught On Camera Keying Car In Stop & Shop Parking Lot, Police Say
A Connecticut woman was charged with criminal mischief after she allegedly keyed a car in a grocery store parking lot. Hartford County resident Mimi L. Fluharty, age 62, of South Windsor, was arrested on Tuesday, April 30, for an incident in February at the Stop & Shop at 1739 Ellington Road in South Windsor. According to Lt. Mark Cleverdon of the South Windsor Police, Fluharty turned herself in to police after being caught on video surveillance causing the damage. She was released on a $1,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, May 15.

A 21-year-old Fairfield County man wanted for car burglaries was apprehended after police chased him through a McDonald's restaurant and found him under a car in a grocery store parking lot.
