One day after his 8th-grade graduation, Vincent Pieczynski was hit by a car while riding his bike home on Route 38 in Southampton, according to a GoFundMe page for his family.
More than $47,000 was raised as of Saturday, June 22, according to the GoFundMe campaign.

Woman Rescued After Sailboat Overturns In Peconic Bay
A woman was rescued from the waters off Long Island after her Sunfish sailboat capsized.
The incident took place in Southampton around 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17 in Peconic Bay near Robbins Island.
The woman, Barbara Gilman, age 56, from Georgia, was able to call for help, and Southampton Patrol Units, Southampton Marine Patrol, US Coast Guard, and state police boat responded along with Southampton and North Sea Fire Departments and Southampton Volunteer Ambulance, said Lt. Tragedy struck an unsuspecting Potomac family after their Southampton rental home caught fire, taking the lives of two of their children, officials say.
The fire erupted overnight on Thursday, August 4 at the home the Wiener family was renting, trapping daughters Lindsay, 19, and Jillian, 21 inside, according to multiple reports.
Their father, Lewis, 60, mother, Alisa, 52, and brother, Zachary Wiener, 23, were able to escape the flames that trapped the two girls, confirmed by the Washington Hebrew Congregation, of which Lewis Wiener is the president.

A local woman riding on the Long Island Railroad was injured when she was hit in the head with a laptop computer by another rider.
The incident took place around 10:52 a.m., Wednesday, July 7, when Southampton Police responded to the Bridgehampton Train Station for a reported attack.
