7 Firefighters Injured When 2 Fire Tankers Crash In York: Officials (Photos) Seven firefighters were injured when two tankers, from two different companies, collided on the way to a massive warehouse fire in South Central Pennsylvania on Friday night, according to separate releases issued the following morning, July 13.  Tanker 37 with Laurel Fire Company #1, was involved in a “motor vehicle accident along with Tanker 8 of the Community Fire Company # 1 – York New Salem," as Chief David E. Rittenhouse stated in a release.  Two members of his crew at Laurel Fire Company #1 were taken to Wellspan York Hospital but have since been discharged.  …

'Explosion' Injures 3 Workers At Plant In Waynesboro: Authorities (Update) Multiple people were injured in an explosion-like event at a manufacturing plant in South Central Pennsylvania. Emergency crews were called to the "fire department incident" at Johnson Controls located at 100 Cumberland Valley Avenue in Waynesboro at 7:23 a.m., according to emergency dispatchers in Franklin County. "An air chamber rupture," was also reported to the police. They added that the incident is contained to the facility. Child MedEvaced From Silo In South Central Pennsylvania: Authorities A child was rescued from a grain silo in South Central Pennsylvania on Tuesday evening, authorities announced.  Crews with the New Franklin Volunteer Fire Company arrived at a reported farming accident on Newcomer Road at 5:51 p.m. on Oct. 24.  They found that child was actually lodged in the grain auger between the silo and a feed truck. "A grain auger is a long tube used to raise and transport grain from the ground to the top of grain bins, load trucks from the grain bin or carry feed from a wagon to cattle feeders on a farm," according to the Farm Injury Resource Center. …
