Gun, Ammo, Various Plates From Various States Found In Teaneck Motorist's Car: Police
A Teaneck motorist who told local police he had a temporary plate on his SUV because he was trying to sell the vehicle was arrested after he opened the rear hatch to look for a replacement, authorities said.
As soon as he did, officers who stopped Tyrone Martinez Blair, 51, on Teaneck Road spotted six temporary Georgia license plates, two different New Jersey plates and two different California plates in the back of the 2018 Lincoln Navigator, Teaneck Police Chief Andrew R. McGurr said.

Charles Whittlesey, age 61, of Massapequa, was arrested Monday, Oct. 24, following an investigation by the Nassau County Police Department’s Narcotics/Vice bureau.

Several young adults in Maryland are facing charges after being busted by police with illegal weapons and drugs following a gathering in Montgomery County, authorities announced.
The Montgomery County Police Department announced the arrests of five suspects under the age of 24 on Friday, Sept. 9 after they were caught by officers for illegally possessing firearms and controlled dangerous substances.

An out-of-state motorist who was stopped for talking on his cellphone had a gun loaded with hollow-point bullets in a high-capacity magazine in his glove compartment, Little Ferry police said.
Officer James Serio spotted the 2017 Acura sedan with tinted windows in the area of eastbound Route 46 and Bergen Turnpike shortly after 10 a.m. Wednesday, Police Chief James Walters said.

A Norfolk man was sentenced to 30 years in prison for multiple gun and drug charges, federal officials reported.
Demetrius McGregor, 37, was sentenced on July 25 after his 2017 arrest in front of his Norfolk apartment, for his involvement in a suspected murder, according to the Department of Justice.
McGregor is no stranger to law enforcement, as he had been convicted nine times before this, for malicious and unlawful wounding, attempted robbery, and other related offenses, officials said.

UPDATE: A South Jersey ex-con found with dozens of guns, high-capacity magazines and ammo admitted having others buy guns for him, federal authorities said.
Darick Nollett, 32, who lives in Cumberland County near the Delaware Bay, caught the attention of law enforcement when he bought a “fuel filter” – a device commonly used to silence firearms -- from China, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig said.
As a convicted felon, Nollett was prohibited from having weaponry, Honig said.
