Reading Man Charged With Rape: DA
A Reading man faces criminal charges in connection with a 2022 Shillington sexual assault, the Berks County District Attorney's Office announced.
Angel Vasquez, 28, was arrested Thursday, April 20, and booked on two counts each of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, and aggravated indecent assault, prosecutors said.
The charges stem from a reported assault at a Shillington residence on May 26, 2022, authorities said. Investigators spoke with the alleged victim, 51, and performed a medical examination that revealed DNA evidence, according to the release.

The son of a woman found dead in a Berks County home over the weekend has been charged with her murder, authorities said.
Jakob A. Murray, 24, of Shillington, was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, third-degree murder, aggravated assault, strangulation, robbery, theft, and possessing an instrument of crime in the killing of his mom, Jill Murray, 47, Pennsylvania State Police said Tuesday.
He admitted to strangling his mother at their North Brobst Street home Sunday morning, according to an affidavit of probable cause.

Berks Man Sexually Assaulted Young Kids For Years, DA Says
A Pennsylvania man accused of sexually assaulting a young girl and boy over the course of several years has been arrested and charged, authorities said.
Antonio Santos-Camacho, of Shillington, was charged with two counts of rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, sexual assault, indecent assault and corruption of minors, according to a news release from the Berks County District Attorney's Office.
Santos-Camacho, 32, was identified as the suspect by both victims in two separate investigations, according to Berks County District Attorney John T. Adams.

Support is surging for the wife of a water authority worker killed in a Berks County trench collapse earlier this week.
Western Berks Water Authority employee Cody Gipprich, 38, of Shillington, was doing routine work in a constructed pit with a colleague on Cambridge Avenue near Meadow Lane around 8:30 a.m. in Wyomissing on Wednesday, WFMZ reports.
