A 32-year-old Connecticut man has pleaded guilty to downloading more than 3,000 images of child sexual abuse material, some of which included infants and toddlers, federal authorities announced.
Burnest Geyer Jr., of Shelton, admitted in federal court on Monday, July 28, to charges of child exploitation after an investigation revealed he was involved in the possession and distribution of child pornography, the US Attorney for Connecticut said.

Josh Bartosiewicz, 31, a seventh- and eighth-grade teacher at the Unquowa School in Fairfield, is competing in the "Americaās Favorite Teacher" award, a contest that benefits the Planetary Society. Voting is now open and runs until March 6.
If he wins, Bartosiewicz will receive a $25,000 cash prize, a trip to Hawaii, and the chance to have Nyeāa childhood heroāteach a live, virtual class for his students.

A Connecticut man horrifically beat a family member's kitten and left it to die in the cold in Fairfield County, then lied to cover it up, authorities said.
Krzystof Bakota, age 47, of Shelton, is charged with first-degree animal abuse and was being held on a $25,000 bond, police said.
Bakota was watching a kitten for a family member, but when they came to pick it up, he told them it had gotten out and was missing, Shelton Police said. Later on, they found the kitten's corpse in his backyard.

Police arrested a 21-year-old Connecticut man after a woman said she had to fight him off last month when he groped her as she walked her dog in Fairfield County, authorities said.
Jgai Purcell, of Shelton, is charged with sexual assault and was being held on a $50,000 bond, police said Wednesday, Sept. 25.
