New Update: IDs Released Of Mother, Child Struck, Killed By School Bus In Mamaroneck
The names of a kindergarten student and his mother who were fatally struck by a bus while walking to a Westchester school have been released by police.
Mamaroneck resident Molly Murphy Donovan, age 43, and her 6-year-old son, Michael Donovan Volpe, were killed in a crash in in Mamaroneck on Thursday, June 20 around 8:30 a.m.
They were struck by a school bus at the intersection of New Street and Mamaroneck Avenue, the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department announced on Friday, June 21.

River Edge McDonald's Employee, 65, Struck Leaving Work, School Bus Crashes Moments Later
In back-to-back accidents, a 65-year-old employee at the McDonald's in River Edge was struck crossing a busy nearby intersection Wednesday night, moments before a school bus crashed in front of the fast-food place, authorities said.
The pedestrian, who lives in Hackensack, went in and out of consciousness after she was struck outside the Green Papaya restaurant at the corner of Kinderkamack and Grand avenues shortly after sunset on Jan. 10, River Edge Police Chief Michael Walker said.
She was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.

Failed Brakes Send School Bus Carrying Students Into Edison Home: Police
Two students suffered minor injuries after a school bus crashed into a home in Edison, authorities said.
The brakes apparently failed on the bus carrying about 30 John Adams Middle School students at 8:06 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18,, Police Chief Thomas Bryan said.
The driver, who was not hurt, did a great job maneuvering around three other houses by crossing through a field, the chief said.
No one was injured in the home on Rahway Roa which was occupied by three clearing crew workers, Bryan said.
The house has been condemned, he said.
"It could have been a lot worse," Bryan said.
