Woman Shot In Salem: Police A woman was wounded by gunfire in the City of Salem, authorities said. Police responded to shots fired on the 200 block of Wesley Street at about 11:15 p.m. Monday, May 20. They found a 23-year-old victim, Salem police said. She was taken for treatment at Cooper University Hospital in Camden. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Salem Police Detective Sgt. The daycare the boy walked away from is now under investigation.  Salem police were called to the Palmer Street area to reports of a young child walking alone just after 11:15 a.m. on Dec. 8. They found the boy wearing a long-sleeved shirt, sweatpants, and just socks on his feet, officials said. Tornado Watch In Effect For South Jersey A tornado watch is in effect for 10 counties in New Jersey until 11 p.m. Monday Aug. 7, according to the National Weather Service. The tornado watch includes Mercer, Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties, the NWS said. Also, the tornado warning was extended to Hunterdon and Warren counties. There also is a watch for severe thunderstorms from Cumberland County north to Trenton. A slighter chance of thunderstorms exists along the Jersey Shore.

Trio Charged With 2022 Bayonne Murder: Prosecutors Three people have been charged in the shooting death of a man in Bayonne in July 2022, authorities said. Mitchell Watson, 22, Hafis Jackson, 20, both Salem residents and Daynajah Payne, a 24-year-old Irvington resident were charged with the murder of Damoi Davauni Campbell, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.  On the early morning of July 27, Bayonne Police received a report of shots fired in the area of 21st Street and Avenue A, Suarez said. Foster, 25, of Penns Grove, were indicted by a Salem County grand jury for first-degree murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons offenses, the outlet said. The watch remains in effect until 9 p.m. across Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, Salem, Somerset, Sussex and Warren counties. The watch -- less severe than a warning -- was also issued for most of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Storms were expected to arrive between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., and end between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. Straight-line winds, large hail, lightning and flash flooding are also possible.
