5 Pounds Of Pot In A Suitcase Spells Trouble For Rockland, Bergen Buds
Five pounds of pot for sale landed two men – one from Rockland, the other from Bergen – in trouble with the law.
Nelson Cedeno, age 46, and Keith Chandler, age 32, of Garnerville, were stopped near Cedeno’s Woodcliff Lake home by detectives from the the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotic Task Force, authorities said.
“A search of the vehicle uncovered five pounds of marijuana located in a suitcase in the rear,” Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said Thursday, Dec. 8. “Both men were arrested at the scene without incident.”

Video: Haworth Nanny, Baby Stroller Struck By Hit-Run Van, Fleeing Rockland Driver Caught
A Haworth nanny and an infant she was pushing in a stroller were struck Wednesday by a van driven by a FedEx worker from Rockland who fled the scene, authorities said.
A police sergeant in neighboring Demarest stopped David Gutfeld, 56, of Airmont a short time later, Haworth Police Chief Michael Gracey said.
The child was OK, but the 55-year-old nanny had to be hospitalized, Gracey said, adding that the entire incident was captured on home security video.

Busted Again: Rockland Driver, Passenger Caught With Meth, Smack, More, Mahwah PD Says
Mahwah police found a Rockland driver and his passenger carrying meth, heroin and more during an overnight traffic stop, authorities said.
It was the second time in months that they arrested Yisroel Lieberman, 24, of Spring Valley and Natalie Shein, 30, of Brooklyn on drug charges.

Firefighters doused a basement blaze Wednesday that severely damaged a Mahwah home near the Upper Saddle River and Rockland borders.

Paterson detectives smashed an Eastside drug operation, arresting several people and seizing 5,182 heroin folds, a handgun and hollow-point ammunition, authorities said.
Investigators watched Monday as two men – one from Paterson, the other from Rockland – separately bought a combined 182 heroin folds at a house on East 27th Street, Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said.
