Man, 49, Hit, Killed While Working On Western Mass Road ID'd By Police
A 49-year-old construction worker working on a crew repairing a road in Berkshire County on Thursday morning, Oct. 12, was run over and killed by an 87-year-old driver, authorities said.
Shane Cassavant, of Lanesboro, was working on the roadway near 777 West Street just before 8 a.m., Pittsfield police said.
Edward Ladouceur, of Pittsfield, was driving east on the road and was flagged to move into the westbound lane once at the construction site. That's when police say he crashed his Chevrolet Colorado into Cassavant, police said.

I-95 Will Re-Open For Traffic This Week, Says Gov. Shapiro
Nine days after a tanker truck caught fire and caused a port of I-95 to collapse in Philadelphia, Governor Joshua Shapiro says the highway is soon to reopen.
"Based on the tremendous progress these crews made over the weekend, I can now say, we will have I-95 back open this weekend," Gov. Shapiro said in a press conference at the site on Tuesday, June 20.
"We have worked around the clock to get this done, and we’ve completed each phase safely and ahead of schedule," he said.

Road Cracks Open, Multiple Driveways Ruined In Methuen Water Main Break
A major water pipe built in the 1930s burst, leaving 30 homes without water service.
A major water main on East Street in Methuen, near Swan Street, burst around 3 a.m. on Friday, May 12, according to the City of Methuen Water Department.
A large hole, around 30 by 30 feet in size, opened up around the water main. Multiple driveways and around 70 feet of the edge of the road were lost in the incident, the Water Department told Daily Voice.
