An Elizabeth man has been charged in connection to a series of residential burglaries across Bergen County, authorities said Monday, Nov. 25.
Jonnathan Diaz-Gomez, 42, was arrested following a months-long investigation led by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and Paramus Police Department, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.

A 22-year-old River Edge man was arrested and charged with distributing and possessing child pornography on Friday, Oct. 18, authorities said.
A search warrant was executed at the home of Andrew Baker as part of an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said.
The investigation revealed Baker used the Internet to view, download, possess, distribute, and share items depicting nude and/or sexually explicit prepubescent and pubescent children, Musella said.

Sean Sidle, a former St. Joseph's Regional High School athlete from Maywood, died on Monday, July 22. He was 19 years old.
A GoFundMe campaign launched by Sean's mother, Victoria, said that his death was sudden, and "a nightmare for any mother and father to have to go through."

River Edge McDonald's Employee, 65, Struck Leaving Work, School Bus Crashes Moments Later
In back-to-back accidents, a 65-year-old employee at the McDonald's in River Edge was struck crossing a busy nearby intersection Wednesday night, moments before a school bus crashed in front of the fast-food place, authorities said.
The pedestrian, who lives in Hackensack, went in and out of consciousness after she was struck outside the Green Papaya restaurant at the corner of Kinderkamack and Grand avenues shortly after sunset on Jan. 10, River Edge Police Chief Michael Walker said.

An 80-year-old woman was hospitalized and her ex-con son arrested as firefighters doused a smoky Tuesday morning blaze that ravaged their Rochelle Park home.
Carmine Covino, 55, was taken into custody after he interfered with responders trying to take his mother, Concetta, to Hackensack University Medical Center after she suffered smoke inhalation, Rochelle Park Police Lt. Edward Kukalski said.
Covino, a registered sex offender with a lengthy rap sheet, "ignored several warnings" before officers were left no choice, the lieutenant said.
