Montgomery County authorities are searching for Vernon Hatchett, who is accused of neglecting and abusing his 21-year-old son, Tylim Hatchett, to death, officials announced Friday, Jan. 17.
Vernon Hatchett also known as Khaliyl Ward, 39, of Glenside, is wanted on multiple charges, including neglect of a care-dependent person and involuntary manslaughter, in the death of his son, Tylim, who was found emaciated and deceased in a Dresher apartment on Sept. 18, 2024, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin Steele said.

The Pennsylvania State Police are renewing efforts to solve the 2001 cold case homicide of a Berks County woman who was brutally attacked in her home, investigators announced.
Lisa Carabello, 40, was fatally slashed from behind at the top of the stairs in her Mohnton Borough residence on Feb. 8, 2001, police said. She was found by her 11-year-old son. The attacker inflicted a severe neck wound and multiple stab wounds, causing her to fall down the stairs to her death, according to authorities.

One man is dead and two more are sought in connection with a deadly shooting in Northeast Philadelphia, authorities say.
It happened on Friday, March 17, in a store on the 5100 block of Torresdale Avenue, city police said in a release. Two men got into a physical fight but then separated, officials said.
