Three underage former employees are suing a Long Island wedding venue, alleging they suffered “egregious” sexual abuse and, later, retaliation when they came forward.
A lawsuit filed in the Eastern District of New York on Saturday, March 30, accuses Sand Castle Caterers in Franklin Square of turning a blind eye to abuse and harassment allegedly suffered at the hands of manager Enrique Sanchez.
The victims, who were 15 years old at the time, worked at Sand Castle as waiters from the summer of 2022 to August 2023.

A Connecticut sports bar and its owner have been ordered to pay over $359,000 in back pay and damages to employees after taking retaliatory action against them, federal officials announced.
A New Haven County sports bar formerly located in Milford, Champions Grill and Bar, was ordered to pay employees a total of $359,485 in back pay, emotional distress damages, withheld compensation, and punitive damages for violating provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and Occupational Safety and Health Act, the US Department of Labor announced on Wednesday, Feb. 7.

Man Admits To Fairfield County Murder In Retaliation For Robbery, Police Say
A Fairfield County man has been arrested and charged with the alleged murder of another man who he said robbed him and made him strip off his clothes.
Dondre Nesmith, age 25, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Thursday, July 15, by the Bridgeport Police, for the Monday, July 12 murder of Javier Flores.
During an interview, Nesmith admitted to shooting Flores in retaliation for Flores and another man robbing him and forcing him to strip out of his clothes, said Scott Appleby, the City of Bridgeport's director of Emergency Management.
Nesmith was charged with murder.
