18 Virginia Residents Indicted In Fentanyl, Firearm Trafficking Operation: Feds
Twenty-six people including 18 Virginia residents were federally indicted in a fentanyl and firearm-trafficking operation.
The charges were brought as the result of Operation Lights Out, an FBI-led investigation in partnership with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
The defendants from Virginia have been indicted:

Suspect In NJ Councilwoman's Murder Extradited From Virginia: Prosecutor
A 28-year-old suspect from Virginia in the murder of Sayreville Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour has been extradited to New Jersey, authorities said.
Rashid Ali Bynum, 28, of Portsmouth, VA, was extradited on Thursday, July 27, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone alongside Chief Daniel Plumacker of the Sayreville Police Department.
Bynum is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional facility pending a pre-trial detention hearing in Superior Court, Ciccone and Plumacker said.

Rashid Ali Bynum, 28, of Portsmouth, VA, was arrested on Tuesday, May 30 at 10:45 a.m., according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office.

A corrections officer is in a coma after an inmate, who was serving a sentence for a 2001 Virginia murder, assaulted him, officials said. Roy Booth was charged for hitting Officer Matthew Tidman multiple times with a metal pole, while they were both inside a Massachusetts prison, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney's office.
