Philadelphia Police Identify 14-Year-Old Shot Dead On SEPTA Platform
Philadelphia police have released the name of the teenager shot and killed on a SEPTA platform over the weekend. Authorities were called to the station at the corner of South 52nd Street and Market Street around 2:10 p.m. on Saturday, May 13 for a report of a person with a gun, the department told Daily Voice. They arrived to find 14-year-old Wort Whipple of Frankford with gunshot wounds to the chest and arm, police wrote. Attempted Car Thief Shot Multiple Times In Philadelphia
A 28-year-old man's attempt to steal a car was intercepted when he was shot multiple times in Philadelphia over the weekend, authorities said. The unidentified black male was committing the crime on the 6100 block of Ellsworth Street on the highway around 9:50 p.m., when someone fired at him, striking him multiple times throughout his body, city police said. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center by police and placed in critical condition. An arrest was made and weapon was recovered, authorities said.

A Philadelphia woman is in critical condition after police say she was shot by a landlord-tenant court officer early on Wednesday, March 29.
