The crash occurred at Plainfield Avenue near Connell Corporate Park, Berkeley Heights police said. The man, whose identity is being withheld by police, was taken to Overlook Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The crash remains under investigation, police said.

Newark Woman Fatally Struck By Vehicle Driven By 70-Year-Old: Summit PD A 66-year-old Newark woman was fatally struck by a vehicle in Summit on the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 20, police said. At 6:51 a.m. police responded to River Road, between Morris Avenue and Plain Street, and found the woman struck by a 2018 Toyota Tundra, driven by a 70-year-old Hopatcong man.  The woman was pronounced dead after being transferred to Overlook Medical Center.  The incident is under investigation by the Summit Police Department Traffic Safety Bureau. The blaze was put out before crews arrived around 8 p.m., sending a burn victim to Cooperman Barnabus Medical Center, Summit police tell Daily Voice. No further information was immediately available.
