The blaze happened in Ossining on Tuesday night, Aug. 6, when a residence on Maurice Avenue went up in flames, according to Ossining Police.  Arriving officers discovered that several residents were trapped in the rear of the building. Dog Dies After Basement Blaze At Ossining Residence A dog died following a blaze that began in the basement of a Northern Westchester home, firefighters said. The fire began on Thursday, March 7 just before 10:30 a.m. at a residence in Ossining on Somerstown Road, according to the Millwood Fire Department. Arriving crews soon found smoke coming out of the house and forced their way in, discovering that the main body of the fire was contained in the basement. Covid-19: Paramedics Will Start Making Vaccine House Calls In Parts Of Northern Westchester The Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps will be delivering some 200 doses of Moderna vaccine to distribute to residents 18 and older over the course of the next three weeks.  Appointments will be available at 8 Clinton Avenue, Ossining, at the paramedic headquarters during the "pop-up" vaccine clinics.  In addition, the department will also make house calls for homebound as well as to help people feel more comfortable getting their first dose.
