27-Year-Old Inmate From Cumberland County Prison Dies: Authorities
A 27-year-old inmate in the Cumberland County Prison died at an area hospital last week, authorities said.
The unnamed man was pronounced dead on Friday, May 19 at 11:04 p.m., after after "a medical event," at the Cumberland County Prison on Thursday night, Cumberland County spokesperson Samantha Krepps told Daily Voice on Tuesday, May 23,2023.
The prison and medical staff immediately revived the inmate, evaluated, and treated him in the medical unit, and then transported him to the hospital, according to Krepps.

He was driving a 2022 Hyundai in Mastic Beach northbound on Mastic Road, just north of Blanco Drive, when it is believed he suffered a medical event and lost control of the vehicle at around 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, Suffolk County Police said.

A central Pennsylvania woman died after crashing into a brick wall, crossing into traffic, causing multi-vehicles to collide, before striking a vehicle head-on, according to a release by the York County Coroner's office.
Rebecca Shingleton, 65, of the 300 block of Stonewood Road in Springettsbury Township, was driving west along the 3200 block of East Market Street when she lost control of her car on Monday around 1:24 p.m., according to the release.

Ant’Wan Pevy, age 25, of Ronkonkoma, was driving a 2011 Kia sedan northbound on Nicolls Road when he suffered a medical event that caused him to lose control of the vehicle, Suffolk County Police said.
The Kia struck a 2016 Nissan SUV being operated by Zachary Morrison, 29, of Holbrook, that was westbound at the traffic light at the intersection of Middle Country Road and Nicolls Road, according to police.

Police have released the identity of a 56-year-old man killed during a single-vehicle crash in a wooded area.
Rockland County resident Erol Belizaire, of Wesley Hills, was killed around 4:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 12, during the crash, which happened in Rockland County in New Hempstead, on Grandview Avenue, said Ramapo Police Det Sgt. Michael Higgins.
Belizaire was driving a 2003 Subaru Outback while on his way to work when a possible medical event caused the vehicle to leave the roadway, Higgins said.
