'Agitated' Man Dies After Being Subdued By Police In Wyandanch
A man police described as "agitated" died shortly after being handcuffed and subdued on Long Island.
The incident happened just before 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, in Wyandanch.
A 911 call reported the man, possibly intoxicated, lying on the ground on Merritt Avenue, according to Suffolk County Police.
When officers arrived, the man, who was naked from his waist down, was banging on a business window, acting irrational and agitated, said police.
Rescue was notified and on standby, awaiting the scene to be safe.

The man, approximately 30 years old, was walking across Columbia Road at the Exit 14 ramp from Route 93 North before 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10, when a red sedan slammed into him, Boston police said. Police are searching for a man who they say stole $18,000 worth of euros from a car while it was parked at a Long Island diner.
On Friday, June 30, the victim, a 38-year-old man, went to a bank in New Hyde Park to exchange $18,500 for approximately 16,959 euros, according to the Nassau County Police.
After leaving the bank, the victim put the money inside the glove box of his Nissan Altima and drove to the Williston Diner, located at 112 Hillside Avenue.
