Western Massachusetts Man Claims $1 Million Lottery Prize
A Western Massachusetts man has claimed a $1 million lottery prize.
Kyle Avery, of Springfield, won the prize from the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$1,000,000 Winter Winnings” instant ticket game, the lottery announced on Tuesday, March 8.
Avery's mother gave him the ticket to thank him for doing work on her car, MA Lottery reported.
Avery received his prize as a single payment of $650,000 before taxes.
The ticket was purchased at Big Y Express, which is located at 1993 Boston Road in Wilbraham.

A New York man has claimed a $2,000,000 lottery prize, and he shared what he plans to do with his winnings.
Ibrahima Bah, of the Bronx, told the New York Lottery he has big plans for his winning prize, saying his first plan is to buy a house.
Bah won the Powerplay second prize for matching the first five numbers drawn in the Wednesday, Nov. 17 Powerball drawing, according to the New York Lottery.
He received his prize as a single lump-sum payment of $1,217,802 after required withholdings.

Five winning Powerball tickets were sold in New Jersey.
Two New Jersey Lottery tickets sold that matched five of the five white balls winning the second-tier prize, and three matched four of the five white balls, winning the third-tier prize.
