A 73-year-old bicyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a pickup truck in East Patchogue, Suffolk County police announced on Saturday, Jan. 18. Gary Green, of Bellport, was riding on Montauk Highway near County Road 101 when a westbound 2013 Ford pickup truck driven by 68-year-old Norman Kurrass, of East Patchogue, hit him at 5:14 p.m., detectives said. A late Long Island man is still helping others, even in death. Joseph Vujasin, 57, of Brookhaven, died after being struck by an SUV while bicycling in North Bellport on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 26.
