A Western Massachusetts drug investigation led to a prison sentence and the rescue of two dogs from a local home.
Greenfield's Tony Carr, 49, received a three-year state prison sentence, and Amber Judd, 40, was given three years of probation on Thursday, Sept. 24. Both pleaded guilty in Franklin Superior Court, according to the Northwestern District Attorney's Office.

The two people responsible for a shooting Monday morning, Nov. 4, were arrested less than two hours later, authorities said.
Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said only that Jose Ortiz, 31, and Yesenia Adorno, 43, both of Paterson, were responsible for the shooting of a 46-year-old man that happened at North Main and Arch streets around 8:30 a.m. The victim survived and was hospitalized with injuries.

Two men were arrested in Bayonne on Tuesday, June 18 and charged with dealing cocaine, marijuana and pills, authorities said.
Giovanny Alfaro and Jamie Juarez-Castillo, both 23, were arrested on Avenue C in Bayonne and found to be in possession of more than 180 grams of suspected cocaine, more than three pounds of suspected marijuana, multiple quantities of Alprazolam and Oxycodone pills and more than $3,000 in suspected proceeds from narcotics transactions, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.

A man is facing charges after he was allegedly caught illegally carrying a gun on Long Island.
Gabriel Seale, age 33, of the Bronx, was arrested Sunday, June 12, in Inwood, according to Nassau County police.
Officers spotted him just before 9.m. driving a Jeep Compass on Burnside Avenue when he failed to signal while changing lanes, police said.
After stopping him, officers discovered a loaded firearm inside his vehicle, police said.

A traffic stop by Bridgeport Police working to reduce speeding led to the use of a taser on a man who allegedly resisted arrest and was in possession of an illegal firearm.
The incident took place around 6:24 p.m., Monday, June 24, when officers made a motor vehicle stop at the intersection of Huntington Turnpike and Evers Street that resulted in the arrest of Michael Atkins, 35 of Bridgeport, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police.
