Yale Students Get in 'Formation' for Beyoncé 101: Report
Blue Ivy's mom is going Ivy League. Yale University will teach a class on Beyoncé and her cultural impact beginning next semester, a report said.
The class, which is called “Beyoncé Makes History: Black Radical Tradition, History, Culture, Theory & Politics through Music,” will focus on using the "Single Ladies" singer's work as a lens to study Black history, performance, and intellectual thought, according to Yale Daily News, an independent student newspaper.

Former West New York Police Officer Johnny Lara Dies, 53
Johnny A. Lara, a former West New York resident and police officer, died on Wednesday, Sept. 4. He was 53 years old.
Lara was born in Colombia and grew up in West New York, having served as a police officer before retiring and moving to Houston TX, according to his obituary on the Barquin Funeral Home website.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Valderramos Lara; their children Brandon, Bella and Jeremy Lara; his mother Emma J. Lara; and his siblings, Rosario Crabtree, Jimmy and Sammy Lara.
Lara was preceded in death by his father, Marcelino and his brother Henry Lara.

Tyger Nicholas Winston, of Yonkers, died on Monday, May 15, according to his obituary.

Man, 54, Sentenced In Camden Girlfriend's 2010 Killing: Prosecutor
A Salem City man has been sentenced to 60 years in New Jersey State Prison for the 2010 killing of his 31-year-old girlfriend from Camden, authorities said.
Timothy Simon, 54, will have to serve 51 years of the sentence under the state's No Early Release Act. which requires Simon to serve 85% of the sentence before being eligible for parole, they said.

Francisco Martinez, 53, pleaded guilty on Thursday, March 30, in the domestic stabbing of Patricia Boney, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.

A skull fished out of the Delaware River nearly 40 years ago has been identified as belonging to a missing New Jersey man, authorities revealed Monday, Jan. 30.
Richard Thomas Alt, a 31-year-old Trenton man, was last seen by loved ones on Christmas Eve in 1984, said Bucks District Attorney Matthew Weintraub in a statement.
Shortly after, Alt and his girlfriend disappeared. Both were suspected homicide victims, and police recovered the woman's body in Mercer County, New Jersey the following April, Weintraub said.
