New Update: Stop & Shop Announces 32 Store Closings, Including 5 In CT

Stop & Shop announced they plan to close 32 underperforming stores, including five in Connecticut.
The company said on Friday, July 12, that the closures allowed it to take the next steps in its plans to position the company for growth.
Following the closures, Stop & Shop will continue to have a strong presence across its five-state footprint, with more than 350 stores.

ID Released For Store Manager Shot, Killed By Worker At NY Stop & Shop
The identity has been released for the store manager killed by a worker in a shooting that injured two others at a supermarket on Long Island.
The suspect, Gabriel DeWitt Wilson, age 31, of Hempstead, pleaded not guilty on Wednesday, April 21, just 24 hours after the incident took place at the Stop & Shop in West Hempstead on Tuesday, April 20.
Wilson was apprehended within four hours of the shooting following a massive manhunt that included more than 150 officers, the FBI, the ATF, and the NYPD, said Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder.

Stop & Shop and the United Food and Commercial Workers Union (UFCW) have announced the extension of a 10-percent pay increase for hourly store workers through Saturday, July 4 amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
