Hackensack BOE Pres Resigns, Cites Board Drama, Wasted Resources As Challenges (Watch)
Hackensack Public Schools Board of Education President Scott James-Vickery announced his resignation during his final board meeting Wednesday, Dec. 18, using the occasion to highlight persistent challenges he believes are holding the district back from reaching its full potential.
James-Vickery, who served six years on the board and held the role of president since 2019, listed several issues he said have hindered Hackensack Public Schools, including internal politics, wasted resources, and a lack of focus on students’ needs.

New Interim Principal Named At Danbury's Westside Middle School Academy
Danbury Public Schools has named a new interim principal at Westside Middle School Academy.
Michael Flynn, a 28-year veteran of Danbury Public School as a teacher, administrator, and now principal, was chosen by Superintendent Dr. Kara Casimiro on Monday, Aug. 19.
According to Michael Seelig of Danbury Public Schools, Flynn attended Danbury public schools from grade three onward, graduating from Danbury High School in 1988.

New Principal Named At Seven Bridges Middle School
Following a lengthy nationwide search, the Chappaqua Board of Education has tapped a well-traveled, veteran educator to take over the helm at Seven Bridges Middle School.
The Board announced on Thursday, Nov. 15 that Joe Mazza, who it says has 19 years of “rich and meaningful experiences,” will take over as principal at the middle school, effective as of Monday, Dec. 10.
