Nursing Home Employees In Capital Region Stole Drugs, Falsified Records, Police Say
Two employees at a nursing home in the region are facing charges after allegedly stealing drugs from the facility and then falsifying business records to cover their tracks, authorities said.
The thefts occurred in Columbia County at the Livingston Hills Nursing Home in Livingston, according to State Police.
Investigators determined that 39-year-old Lauren Emery, of Hudson, and 47-year-old Alison Steedle, of Clinton in Oneida County, falsified and forged business records in an attempt to conceal their theft of narcotics, police said.

Western Mass Nurse Admits To Stealing Fentanyl From Critical Care Patient
A Western Massachusetts nurse has admitted to stealing fentanyl that was being administered to a patient in a hospital's critical care unit.
Berkshire County resident Jessica Lotto, age 36, of Pittsfield, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, May 31, to one count of acquiring a controlled substance by fraud, deceit, or subterfuge, according to an announcement from Rachael Rollins, United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts.

A man and two women accused of stealing hundreds of boxes of over-the-counter cold medicine crashed their car during a pursuit across Morris County, authorities said.
A police officer stopped Mikael Whitehead, 25, on Route 53 after he was spotted driving erratically in a 2009 Infinity on Route 46 east in Denville, around 8 p.m. Sept. 18, Denville Police Capt. Jeffrey Tucker said.
