According to an announcement from the Westchester County Health Department on Tuesday, July 30, the season's first batches of mosquitoes carrying West Nile Virus were found in:  Croton; Mount Vernon; Rye; White Plains; Yonkers. Staffer Fired For Meeting With Teen Girl Leads To 'Witch Hunt,' Westchester BOL Chair Says The Chair of the Westchester County Board of Legislators is responding to calls for her resignation after a county staffer was fired for attempting to meet up with a 14-year-old girl.  The former legislative staffer, identified as Anand Singh, was fired on Thursday, April 13 after a video surfaced of him allegedly driving hours to try and meet up with a 14-year-old girl, according to the Westchester County Board of Legislators.  The incident is now under investigation by the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, Board of Legislators Chair Catherine Borgia said in a statement on Tuesday, April 18.  …

Passaic County Native Dominic Depasquale Dies, 26 Passaic County native Dominic Depasquale died on June 27, 2021. He was 26 years old. Dominic was raised in Little Falls and graduated from Passaic Valley Regional High School. He went on to work as a Verizon store manager in Croton, NY and Stamford, CT. His obituary remembered him for his big heart and love for his family. Services were held at the Festa Memorial Funeral Home with interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa. Woman Tries To Take Child Out Of Classroom, Yorktown Police Say A 49-year-old Croton woman was arrested and charged after Yorktown Police say she tried to remove a child from a classroom at Yorktown Presbyterian Church on Monday. Lesia Gagliotti was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, a Class A misdemeanor.  Gagliotti entered a classroom and attempted to grab the child out of the arms of a teacher, despite not being a relative or having custody of the child.
